State Lawmakers in Nashville are trying to expand oil and gas infrastructure by stripping away all control over fossil fuel siting from local governments.
Join us to call residents of districts with the most critical representatives to get the word out and ask them to pressure their elected officials to stop this horrible bill that has bipartisan opposition.
A simple bill aiming to map oil and gas infrastructure was completely rewritten through an amendment passed in the Tennessee Legislature. This bill was amended at the last minute - which radically changed the bill to strip local communities of all control over the siting of all fossil fuel storage, transmission, distribution or other related projects--pipelines and gas stations included.
Local governments would have no say over toxic facilities, gas stations, or pipelines running under their schools, churches, or parks.
